  1. Three for three deserves a five out of five, a fine vest for a mariner's fancy

I ordered three of these vests for myself and “my lads” (ok, my daughters, but they like re-enacting as boys; I don’t judge 😉 ). The vests do have a little “run” to them if left as is, but a quick wash and line dry solves that problem quickly, and the mild fade makes them look even more authentic. I purchased a brown, navy and wine vest, and each has different hardware shading and patterns, meaning that close up, you would think the vests were from three different makers. Another surprising but wonderful bonus is that the lining is not attached to the outer seams, and there are open gaps to reach into from the front and the back. Sounds bad? not at all! This makes doing custom alteration and fitting super easy; no need to remove or detach/unstitch the lining to bring in or let out seams). For most, if there’s a need for drawing in the fit, the drawstring in back will do just fine.

My lads and I were out and about for “Talk Like a Pirate Day”. Many people raved about their outfits, and how authentic they looked. The vests were, without question, the finishing touch that helped seal that delivery. If I had to make any one suggestion, it would be to add pockets to the front, but that would certainly bring up the price, and they are not essential (but if I choose to add them later, the ease of access means that I, likewise, easily can). As to DLaP, their order process was quick, their communication excellent, their shipping prompt, and to reiterate, the gear is excellent. Thank you for helping outfit this small crew, we appreciate it, and we will most definitely order again!
