Since 2003 (yes, we’ve been here that long), by far our most popular men’s shirt. Small turned over collar, grommeted lacing chest, and the choice of either a 2 button cuff or a luscious double layer ruffle cuff. Buttons cuffs are easy to roll up and have a more subdued effect. Ruffled cuffs are very romantic, more Shakespearean, and look best when worn with a frock coat. They have elastic at the wrist, so you can shove them up and out of the way easier than unbuttoning and rolling up the sleeves of the button one. As you can tell, the vote for either sleeve is pretty split down the middle. Soft and drapey viscose rayon (a renewable resource material), looks and acts just like cotton. Washes the same and breathes wonderfully in warm weather. Because we build the right amount of puffiness or drape into the sizes already, you don’t have to go beyond the size you wear in t-shirts to get the right fit. The S/M has 48″ of material in the chest, the L/XL has 56″, the 2/3X has 64″. Remember you want this to be loose and drapey, don’t go by the amount of material listed, go by your normal shirt size.
If you are not sure what you wear in t-shirts, this is an easy key:
Short Pirates 36-46″ chest – S/M
Average Height 40-50″ chest – L/XL
Above Average 45-55″ chest- 2X/3X
Big Fella Up to 62″ chest – 4-6X
Over 6’3″ – XLT (XLT has 62″ of material in the chest but is 6 inches longer than the L/XL and so can fit up to 3XLT Pirates).
